Why Graphic Designers Need more Love!

It might sound like a contradiction since I recently talked about doing art as a passion, but you have to admire those who use every creative skill they have to try being successful

There's literally an Ocean of people waiting to prove themselves

To Any Artist Who Reads This...What Inspires You?

Even though I've written a post on creativity, and even a short way to imagine capturing your artistic audience...I have to be honest.

The past several months have had me focus a lot on job searching and my volunteer duties. I'm a blogger, grant writer and volunteer coordinator.

As you might guess, none of these things quite go hand in hand with artwork. Every time I go to write or draw...I feel like my artwork has dribbled away. There's a creative drought going on in my head right now!

So, I have a question for YOU.

What inspired you to balance life and art? What inspires you to keep drawing?

I'm curious as to what very exprienced artists (or more disciplined artists) have to say about this. Should I try being more creative? Do I need to just wait? I'm eager to read what you have to say.

If you don't mind, could you drop your name in the comments section with an answer?

I'd love to share what you write!

Quick Thoughts on the 2014 Oscars

I'm a little ashamed of having this fun art blog...yet not having had watched many movies this year.

So naturally, I ducked watching the Oscars this year.

Thankfully, I did get to see one of the movies nominated for an award (it was Lone Survivor). Though, I wish I had seen 12 Years a Slave, Gravity, and Dallas Buyer's Club. And a huge congratulations to those movies and their actors who took home an Oscar.

On a side note, I heard a little bit about Matthew McConaughey's Oscar speech (via the amount of quotes being shared on Facebook). I wasn't too sure what the controversy was, but we should all be happy that he won.

I was happy for Jerod Leto when he won Best Support Actor (link to his Daily Show Thing) and Lupita Nyong'o for winning her award, I've read there were a few snubs (or rather a recurring snub).

Once again, Leonardo DiCaprio leaves the Academy Awards Oscar-less. I'm not too heated over this as I'm only a recent Leonardo fan. (Though according to this article, Twitter was both  mocking and defending DiCaprio).

Anyway, I'm about done with this Oscar talk! But that doesn't mean you are.

Leave a comment below telling me what you thought of the Oscars (so you can let me know how they went too!) Did you think anyone got snubbed? Was Ellen a good host?

The suspense is killing me!
